The IGP, Mohammed Adamu says
the major problems confronting the Police Force
are
shortage of funds, men and material required to carry out the job.
Speaking at a closed door session with lawmakers which saw him being grilled for two and a half hours, the IGP said w
ith
shortage of funds, inadequate equipment and personnel, there is little or nothing the police can do to curb the rising waves of insecurity in the country.
A
ccording to him, if these are available, insecurity would be nipped in the bud.
The police boss was summoned by the senate to brief them on efforts to nip insecurity in Nigeria in the bud.
