The Minister of transportation ,Rotimi Amaechi says civil work has been completed with all 21 bridges on the Lagos-Ibadan rail line completed.
The Minister spoke after the monthly inspection of the project which began at Apapa where the the station is being expanded to include hotels warehouses and shopping Malls.
Amaechi said surrounding properties which are on the right of way, belonging to the railway corporation would be recovered from leases after due compensation.
The Minister said the plan is to complete the Ibadan axis by the end of May then proceed to complete Iju, Ebute metta then ApapaĀ before the year ends.
Speaking at the Steering committee meeting at Pepelanto, the Minister recounted how the project had started with nothing on ground and attributed the Success recorded so far to persistent push.He called on the next Minister of transportation to borrow a leave from him and push the contractors if the rail projects must be completed.

The CCECC ,contractors of the project, commended the Minister for his hands on approach to supervision of the project and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with him.
Civil work on the Lagos -Ibadan rail commenced on the 3rd of May 2017 with the lifespan of the project fixed at 3 years.
