Nigerian patients want quality of care but many are not prepared to pay for it. They want good outcomes but are not prepared to work for it. We have seen a few patients who have had care in Nigeria and lie that they went abroad. Often, this is for financial gain. Some will not participate in advocacy to help inform others about the care obtained locally.
Some others get good recoveries and then give all the credit to the pastor in the church. It seems like the doctor treats the physical illness and gets his reward in heaven, whereas the pastor treats the spiritual and gets his reward here on earth.
