The election of Governor Emmanuel Udom has been affirmed by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital .
Delivering judgement, a three-man panel of the Tribunal upheld the election of Governor Emmanuel in a unanimously on Thursday.
The Tribunal, however, dismissed the petition filed by Mr Nsima Ekere of candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for lack of merit.
Governor Emmanuel, was elected for a second term in office, and won the March 9 governorship poll on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
However, it is not clear if Mr Ekere would challenge the judgement of the Tribunal at the Court of Appeal.
