CROSS RIVER JOURNALIST FORUM TO FOSTER DEVELOPMENT THROUGH PRESS WEEK_Ada Nkong

The Cross River State Journalists Forum CROSSJOF Abuja says it has concluded plans to hold its maiden press week to mark its 20 years of as an assembly of practicing Journalists of Cross River extraction in Abuja.
This was contained in a statement signed by the secretary organizing committee, Lulu Banking.
The media group which was founded in 2001, broke out of the old Akwa Ibom/Cross River Journalists Forum Akwa/Cross to enable it commence the publishing of a Newspaper called Cross River Panorama, a publication which focused on development, political and socio-economic life of the state.
The Forum gravitated towards setting the pace for state political leaders and actors to attract national development in education, health, agriculture, electricity, water and industrilization.
The statement reads ” the forum reiterates its readiness to continue to work and partner with state, national and international development agencies on initiatives that are capable of transforming the lives of the rural dwellers in Cross River”.
It stated that sectorial development and building human capital remained the bedrock of sustainable growth.
The event which will hold on the 28th of November 2019 will take a critical look in the governance of the state and the nation, since the return to democratic rule in 1999.
high points of the event will be the award categories of Leaders and promoters of democracy in the state and the nation, as well as technocrats and high flying professionals of reput.
All past indigineous Governors of the state and the current governor are expected to grace the occasion, begining from chief Clement Ebri, Mr. Donald Duke, senator Liyel Imoke and professor Ben Ayade.
Sidelines at the event would include conversations on partnership in the 2019 Calabar Carnival festival and other related matters.
