The Minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has expressed confidence in the ability of the entertainment industry to Create jobs, reduce crime, be a major source of foreign exchange and attract investment in the industry.
The Minister who spoke during the just concluded AFRIMA awards in Lagos, Saturday, said the Federal Government will continue to play its role to ensure the industry survives.
The All Africa Music Awards ,AFRIMA ,held at Eko hotels in Lagos ,brought together big names in the entertainment industry from all over Africa in a night of entertainment and rewards.
Nigeria made a good show at the awards with DJ Spinall winning best DJ Africa, Burna Boy winning best male artist West Africa. Some other big names in Nigeria that won awards are Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Two Baba.
Nasty C , Nadia and the legendary Awilo Longomba also won awards.
There were 36 categories of awards some continental and some regional.
