The Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly and Vice president speakers forum of Nigeria, Abel Peter Diah, has resigned .
Announcing his resignation in a short message to Journalists in the state, Diah said he was resigning on personal grounds.
Newsannex recalls that there has been a battle of wits between the state governor, Darius Ishaku, and the leadership of the Assembly in the period leading up to the resignation..
An attempt to impeach Diah last Friday failed with nine out of the twenty four-member house reported to have supported the move while fifteen stood on the side of Diah.
Diah who was the Vice Chairman of the Speaker’s Forum of Nigeria has been a member of the Assembly since 2003.
