AMAECHI BLOWS HOT ON CCECC, ORDERS THEM TO EMPLOY MORE HANDS_Ada Nkong

The Minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of stations construction on the Lagos-Ibadan rail project.

The Minister who spoke during his monthly inspection tour of the project said the Chinese company was not working as fast as it should because it had failed to employ enough hands.

Starting with the station at Ebute Meta to the terminal point in Ibadan, only the station at Kajola showed marked signs of serious work in progress.

The rail tracks had however been laid right up to the terminal point at Ibadan to the satisfaction of the Minister who took to his Twitter handle to express his joy.

“Laying of tracks up to Ibadan station is now complete. Our focus will now be on completing the tracks from the Agege end to Apapa Seaport and completing all the major and minor stations along the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail line”

The Minister and the inspection team had boarded the train from Agege and rode without hitch to Ibadan.

He called on passengers on the route to remain patient as very soon. More coaches will be added to the route.

There have been free train services on the Lagos Ibadan rail for passengers travelling for the season since 30th of November 2019
