The Nigerian national handball team lost to Angola as they began their 2020 African nations cup campaign in Tunis Tunisia.
The senior male handball team lost 17-10 in the first half of the game and a second half comeback with put them a point above Angola with 14-13 was sadly not enough to help their cause as the game ended 30-24.
Rafiu salami the technical adviser praised the fighting spirit of the team although he expressed sadness at the outcome of the game.
He insists that the goal of qualifying for the World Cup is still on course and encouraged Nigerians to support and encourage the team ahead of their game with Gabon on Friday.
To stand a chance to qualify out of group B Nigeria must win Gabon come friday.
