Arsenal have completed the signing of Caitlin Foord from Sydney FC in a late Women’s Super League Deadline Day transfer.
Arsenal had until midnight to finalise the deal due to FIFA regulations over foreign transfers.
Foord leaves Sydney after seven-and-a-half seasons and becomes one of the first Westfield W-League players to move from a club in Australia and command a transfer.
Arsenal Women head coach, Joe Montemurro said: “I’m very pleased that Caitlin has joined us. I have watched her growth in the W-League and she is versatile and a great character and We are excited to welcome her when she joins up with the squad.”
born 11 November 1994 Caitlin jade foord is an Australian professional soccer player. She became the youngest Australian to play at a World Cup when she represented Australia at the 2011 FIFA WORLD CUP at the age of 16.
She first signed to Sydney FC in 2010 before leaving to Sky blue FC in 2013 and then returned to Sydney FC in 2016 before leaving to Japan Vegalta Sendai Ladies
She made a second return to Sydney FC before being signed to Arsenal now.
