A Federal high court in Abuja has fined the Federal government for causing the adjournment of Sowore’s case.
Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the federal high court, fined the federal government the sum of N200, 000 to be paid to Omoyele Sowore and Olawale Bakare.
At the resumed hearing of the case of treasonable felony filed against the convener of #RevolutionNow movement, Sowore and his co-defendant, Bakare on Wednesday, the Judge frowned at the pace of the trial with delays caused by the prosecutor.
After listening to the prosecutor announce the amended charges which have not been served the defendant, the judge gave the fine and adjourned to Thursday, February 13.
She warned that the proceedings would not continue if the prosecution fails to present evidence of the payment of the N200,000 to the defence or come to court with the cash on Thursday.
Noble Laurette, Wole Soyinka and Senator Shehu Sani were in court for the trial.
