The need for all stakeholders in the drug value chain to play key roles in stemming the tide of dru abuse has been emphasized.
The Chairman board of trustees Initiative for a Drug Free Africa, Kenneth Ibe-Kalu made the call while speaking to journalist in Abuja.
Ibe-Kalu who lamented the wide spread use of drugs among young people in Nigeria said the damage done by the abuse of drugs is unimaginable as the decline in all facets of life for the abuser is steady.
He called for volunteers to join the war against Drugs.
“IFDA has commenced continental and in-country structuring and we are looking for men and women with sagacity, those who are passionate, self motivated, sacrificial with unrivalled leadership qualities to man those structures”.
According to the Chairman, IFDA ‘shall collaborate with governments of Africa at all levels, suggest policy direction to achieve our target and as well propose bills that may aid the realisation of our goals”.
