As part of its commitment to providing succour to people in rural areas, Lead Rural Africa a civil society organization distributed foodstuff in the first phase of its outreach to vulnerable persons in NDE community in Ikom, Cross River state.
The MD , Dr Mandus Akonjom speaking to our correspondent in a telephone interview said the move became necessary due to the hardship being experienced by people globally due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
“Our Local Social Register comprises of elderly, sick, physically challenge, widows, single mothers, and nursing mothers. We were able to reach 350 households”.
Dr Akonjom thanked all who supported the outreach so far, both at home and in diaspora and called on well meaning Nigerians to collaborate so that more households can be reached.
The second phase of the project is scheduled for Sunday 3 May 2020
