The Nigerian Union of Journalist in Akwa Ibom State asked its members to boycott the tour and press briefing of Femi Fani-Kayode in the state.
A statement signed by the NUJ chairman Comrade Amos Etuk and Secretary Comrade Dominic Akpan , of the Akwa Ibom chapter states that the decision is in line with the position of the National body.

Directive To All Chapels
In line with the disposition of the national leadership of our great Union, the State Council has directed that no journalist should attend a media parley with Femi Fani-Kayode or any of his activity at any location in Akwa Ibom State.
The NUJ is not part of the visit.
