Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is to chair the virtual climate vulnerable forum leaders event to be cohosted by the Global center on adaptation tomorrow at 7.00pm.
A release signed by MD Tohidul Islam ,Senior Information officer of Bangladesh ministry of foreign affairs stated that as current president of CVF, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be joined by UN Secretary General Antonio Guiteres, Chair of GCA Banki moon, heads of states and government of the CVF countries, UK and Italy.Also expected at the event are the Netherlands, CVF thematic ambassadors and other international partners.
According to Tohidul Islam, ddiscussions will center on the urgent need for all countries to strengthen climate action and adaptation efforts by enhancing the Paris agreement national contributions (NDC) in 2020 at the event.
The climate vulnerable forum is an international partnership of countries vulnerable to a warming planet founded in 2009.
Bangladesh has assumedassumed CVF presidency for the second time in 2020-2022 after a previous tenure in 2011-2013.
