The National Executive Council at its meeting today, mandated state governors to take charge of police tactical units.
The council meeting chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo also directed that judicial panels of inquiry be set up to investigate police brutality in all the states and the FCT. The panels have six weeks to do their job.
A statement by Laolu Akande ,media aide to the Vice President says Compensation is also to be paid to all victims of police brutality from a special fund.
