ASUU Strike: End in Sight As FG ,ASUU Rise From Eight Hours Meeting_Ada Nkong

An end may be in sight for the protracted ASUU strike that has kept students of higher institutions at home for so long.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige,who briefed journalists after the eight hour meeting described the dialogue as fruitful.

ASUU’s president, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi also indicated that an end to the tussle was imminent..

According to Ngige , the government has made a proposal which ASUU will take back to their executives.

The minister explained that l issues discussed in the Friday meeting, include salary shortfall, the payment system for lecturers and revitalisation of universities.

He expressed optimism that all the issues will be resolved at their next meeting.

The current ASUU strike started in March due to unmet demands by the federal government.
