Jody Morris has left Chelsea. It is unclear whether the 42-year-old or the club made that decision.
Morris developed a bright reputation as a coach while working in the Blues academy. He spent four years at Cobham, two of which were spent in charge of the Under-18s, who he guided to FA Youth Cup success in 2018.
He would depart at the end of that season to became Lampard’s assistant at Derby. The duo almost guided the Rams to promotion during the 2018/19 campaign but lost in the Championship play-off final.
Lampard and Morris returned to Chelsea soon after and played instrumental roles in several academy youngsters, including Mason Mount, Reece James, Billy Gilmour and Tammy Abraham, becoming fixtures in the first-team squad.
