The Lagos-Ibadan rail project which is a baby of the Ministry of transportation was expected to be commissioned in January 2021. The covid -19 disruption made it impossible with challenges range from workers who caught the virus to difficulty transporting materials for work.

The project has finally taken shape and is already in use as well as set for commissioning soon.
The stations have turned out standard and if maintained will signal a new dawn for passengers waiting to board or arriving train stations on that route.
At the Apapa port, the track now links the terminal to Ibadan so movement of cargo will be swift and easy. Hopefully, the gridlock at Apapa will end with this development.
With the completion of this project which is being midwifed by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi with monthly inspection, four other new rai projects are in the offing.
