The Senate Committee on the review of the 1999 constitution, northwest zone panel, held its first public hearing earlier today, May 26th, 2021 at the State House, Kawo, Kaduna state, Nigeria.
The secretary Nigerians in diaspora voting council ,Barr. Tolu Oluwatuyi in a statement said Prince Ade Omole led the Nigeria Diaspora Voting Council (NDVC) members to the hearing. The NDVC team included Professor Ali Alao and Dr Badeji Lee.
Oluwatuyi said the NDVC memorandum supporting Diaspora voting for over 17 million Nigerians living outside the shores of Nigeria was presented by Prince Omole. The chief host of event was H.E Mallam Nasir E-Rufai, Executive Governor of Kaduna State while the public hearing was chaired by Distinguished Senator, Dr. (Arc.) Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya.
The public hearing is ongoing across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria. NDVC leadership and members will be attending the hearing across the nation.
