In a bid to increase awareness about new businesses and services in the health space in Abuja, the guild of medical directors FCT is organizing a showpiece program with the title,what’s new in Abuja.
A statement by the PRO of the GMD FCT, Dr Biodun Ogungbo says the advocacy is targeted at members of the GMD as well as the general public.
Ogungbo said the program became necessary at this time as Abuja is fast becoming the medical tourism center for Nigeria.
According to him, “it is vitally important to further strengthen this position as we provide quality care for all Nigerians”.
“There is a real need to educate the public about the advances in health care and new services available especially during this era of a worldwide pandemic. It is very difficult for patients and relatives to travel abroad for health care at the moment. Therefore, it is more pertinent to let Nigerians know what is available and where in Abuja”.
The program which is scheduled for July 17th 2021 and will be streamed live for everyone to participate in is a hybrid program with physical and online presentations. The actual event will be at the latest advanced diagnostics centre in Abuja: Everight Diagnostic Services and Laboratory Services Ltd located at 2 FEZ Street, off KUMASI Crescent, Wuse 2 Abuja.
Dr Ogungbo further said, “Some of the organizations invited will be talking about minimally invasive spine surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery and neonatal care, brain surgery with futuristic equipment and neurological rehabilitation. Others are focused on the rapid covid-19 diagnostic tests and interventional radiology. This exciting specialty had recently arrived in Nigeria and is being pushed by IRDOC”.
The GMD expressed its excitement at the upcoming event saying it is proud to showcase the medical advances going on in Nigeria and looks forward to welcoming the members of the press and indeed all Nigerians to the program.
