Ese Brume has won Nigeria’s first medal at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

She won a bronze medal in women’s long jump.

Germany’s Malaika Mihambo soared to gold in the women’s long jump, snatching victory from former champion Brittney Reese with her last leap of the competition.

Ese Brume took the bronze medal with a best jump of 6.97m.

Brume is Nigeria’s sole representative in the jumps in Tokyo following the disqualification of Ruth Usoro by the Athletics Integrity Unit.
