The court of appeal sitting in Abuja has thrown out an appeal against the judgment of the appellate court last week upholding Jarigbe Agom as winner of the 5th December Cross River northern Senatorial bye-election and calling for the withdrawal of the certificate hitherto issued to Stephen Odey.
The court led by the president of the appeal court Justice Monica Dongbam-Mensem described the appeal as a waste of litigation time and an abuse of court process.
It awarded a cost of one million naira each against Stephen Odey and Joe Agi.
This judgment will put to rest a long drawn out legal battle which saw Jarigbe Agom not sworn in despite winning previous cases in the matter.
