The Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, slumped thursday at a programme at Aso Villa and was rushed to hospital.
Bawa got stuck while giving his goodwill message at the National Identity Day celebration and suddenly stopped speaking.
He had been talking about a man arrested by the commission in Ibadan, Oyo state, with 116 SIM cards before he slumped.
The Chairman stopped talking and covered his face with his right palm, he said , “Please, excuse me, I can’t continue.”
Though he was assisted to his seat by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami and other senior officials at the event, Bawa slumped on his seat and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
The Master of Ceremony (MC) announced to the gathering after a while that Bawa’s condition was stable.
