NRC Suspends Operations on Abuja-Kaduna Route_Ada Nkong

The Nigerian railway corporation has suspended operations on the abuja- Kaduna corridor indefinitely. A statement on it’s website says this is for the safety of passengers and crew members.
NRC further said efforts are on to ensure absolute safety along that route while promising to provide more information on the suspension soon.
Daily trust reports that Passengers heading to Kaduna from Abuja returned to the nation’s capital after a delay which lasted at least two hours on Thursday. They quoted a passenger who said they were forced to return to Abuja after being trapped at Jere, a community in Kaduna.
Meanwhile a video surfaced online soon after Shehu Sani posted pictures on his Facebook page ,raising alarm. According to Sani Shehu, bandits planted explosives on the track which exploded destroying some parts and almost causing the train to skid.
The MD NRC Mr Fidet Okhiria however said vandals are suspected of being behind the incident.
