Air Passengers Assured of Safety as ATACA Unveils Maiden Journal_Ada Nkong

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria has assured passengers travelling for the yuletide of safety and security at the airports.

The Managing Director FAAN , Captain Rabiu Yadudu gave the assurance during the unveiling of the maiden edition of Abuja transport and aviation correspondents journal in Abuja.

Yadudu who was represented by Mr Noel Anozie commended ATACA for the initiative and expressed optimism that the journal, which is the only one presently in the sector would add value to society and prayed for longevity.

He assured passengers that adequate measures are being taken to guarantee safety.

“FAAN has been doing a lot of training for AVSEC, we have been moving personnel from airports where we don’t have heavy traffic to where we have traffic and making sure that our aviation security officers are well trained and can spot challenges around and handle them as quickly and as robustly as we can”.

The Minister of Aviation,Hadi Sirika appreciated the Journalists for their role in the execution of Aviation road map and gave assurance that by April, there would be positive development concerning the National carrier.

The Minister who was represented by Mr James Odaudu,Director Press Ministry of Aviation, also allayed fears that concessioning at the airport would lead to job loss. He re-echoed the promise that the program would be abandoned of a single job is at risk.

The Minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi represented by Mr Eric Ojiekwe thanked the Journalists for the role they have played so far in the development of the rail sector and gave assurance of his support for the journal. He tasked ATACA to use their reportage to draw investors .

Also represented at the event were the Nigerian ports authority and friends of ATACA, including Dr Israel Ebeneme, who urged the Journalists to make the journal a tool for constructive criticism in the sector while pledging his support.
