The Federal government has approved free train rides on all standard and narrow gauge tracks from Friday 24 December to Tuesday January 4 2022.
A statement signed by Yakub Mahmood Deputy Director public relations says the rides include Abuja -Kaduna, Lagos-Ibadan, Warri-Itakpe, Kano-Lagos, Minna-Kaduna and Aba-Port harcourt.
Mahmood said the free rides are to enable Nigerians travel home for the holidays. He however said all boarding tickets though not to be paid for have to be processed.
The statement called on Nigerians to pray for our country Nigeria as they enjoy the kind gesture. NRC further wished Nigerians a happy Christmas and prosperous new year.
