…Governor Okowa Pledges Additional 55M Donation To “Hall of Fame Graduands, Outstanding Entrepreneurs, Choristers
Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, has enjoined the Graduands , over 1, 000 Youth beneficiaries of the Delta State Government Youths empowerment programme on Skill Training Entrepreneurship Program (STEP), Youths Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme (YAGEP) of comprising of 654 STEPreneurs, 346 YAGEPreneurs and 25 PwDs (Persons with Disabilities to remain focused in their various skills and vocational fields to make Delta State great in the nearest future.
Governor Okowa disclosed this to the media at the Event Centre, Okpanam Road, Asaba, Delta State capital today while delivering his speech at the graduation ceremony that marked the formal closure of the 2020/2021 cycle of the STEP and YAGEP, the 6th in the Job Creation Programme series since 2015 till date.
Governor Okowa while urging the beneficiaries to ensure that they impact on their businesses and the Society at large to make Delta State great, commended the STEP and YAGEP graduands for the successful completion of their training and consequent graduation ceremony. He also thanked the Management of Delta State Job and Wealth Creation Bureau led by the Director-General, Prof Eric Eboh for the Job well done towards reducing the menace of unemployment in the country.
He stated that his regime’s achievements are visible as Deltans know that he is working in line with his SMART agenda policy, and stronger Delta agenda except for those critics not living in the state, while restating his commitment to more dividends of Democracy to all Deltans. He further commended Delta Youths for being responsible, peaceful and hard-working, which he said has promoted peace and security in the state.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa also commended the entire Deltans for their support, while he urged the Youths to exercise their political rights and remain focus in their various businesses, chosen fields. He thanked the Traditional Rulers in the state for coming and their support to his administration, the entire participants for making the occasion a success stated that his Administration.
The job creation programmes, STEP and YAGEP have covered 6, 074 beneficiaries from 2015 to date. The 1,000 beneficiaries for the 6th batches since its inception in Delta were today given starter packs and shop rent support for STEPreneurs and support packages and cash for YAGEPreneurs after the training and fulfilment of the eligiblity requirements.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa during the event pledged additional Fifty-five Million Naira only to those Delta Entrepreneurs inducted into STEP, YAGEP ” #Hall of Fame#” as he was moved, enthusiastic with the performances, testimonies, exploits, achievements of the 75 outstanding Delta Entrepreneurs and those who also served as Choristers during the occasion; Five Hundred Thousand Naira Each to 30 STEPreneurs, 35 YAGEPreneurs, and #7.5M to 10 PwDs ( Persons with Disabilities), and #10M, which is #55M to support them for their excellent performances.

Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, ably represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Ovie Festus Agas, Members of the State Executive Council, Top Government functionaries, The Director-General, Delta State Job And Wealth Creation Bureau, Prof Eric Eboh, The Management and Staff of the Agency, STEP, YAGEP, GEEP beneficiaries since 2015 to date, the media, critical stakeholders and distinguished Deltans.
