The minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi says the dry Inland Port will provide free primary education as part of it’s corporate social responsibility.
The minister said this after an inspection of the DIDP primary school structure which is almost ready for school
Whle expressing satisfaction with the level of work done at the school site, he however frowned at the landscaping at the Inland Port which he said might stall the commisioning of the project.
At the Zawanciki station of the Kano-Kaduna rail project, the minister urged the Kano state government to meet with the permanent secretary ministry of Transportation, Dr Magdalene Ajani and the surveyor to ensure that issues of compensation are settled so thatth contractor can gain full access to the land to accelerate work.
At the Daura university of Transportation, the minister though happy with the pace of work urged the contractors, CCECC to ensure the facilities meet global standards. He said work should be completed by September so that activities can commence at the school.
The Minister who stopped over at the palace of the Emir of Daura ,Dr Umar Faruk Umar to pay obeisance as the Dan Amanar Daura thanked the Emir for the warm reception and the trust and Cooperation he received. He used the opportunity to brief him on his ambition to contest for presidency come 2023.
The minister was accompanied by Sen Ali Ndume, Permanent secretary ministry of transportation Dr Ajani and the MD Railway Engr Fidet Okhiria among others.
On his part, the Emir thanked the Minister for not only being instrumental Daura getting the University of Transportation but also following up to ensure a good job is done. He assured him of his trust and confidence in the Minister.
