Youths under the aegis of Akwa-Ibom Youth Movement have called on President Muhhamadu Buhari to re-imstate Mr Effiong Okwa to the NDDC board.
A leader of the group Chief Bassey E who spoke to Newsannex after a press conference following a meeting of the Odon Youth movement in Abuja said the group was impressed with Mr Okwa’s performance as interim administrator, adding that he revolutionized the NDDC within a short time through his proactive and visionary leadership which led to completion of NDDC headquarters in Portharcourt.
Effiong Okwa who is a lawyer before his appointment, was the acting executive director finance and administration.
According to Dr Frank Udoh another leader ,while in office, he was able to drive home the Buhari administration focus through active and constant engagement with youths and stakeholders in the region in addition to speeding up action on the forensic audit ordered by the president.
According to the youths, ” you do not change a winning team”. They appealed to Mr President to reinstate Mr Okwa as part of the board in order to consolidate on the gains made during his tenure.
