The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Ibrahim Tanko Muhhamad has resigned.
Our correspondent confirmed this through a phone call with his special assistant media, Mr Ahuraka Yusuf.
His resignation is reportedly on grounds of ill health.
Sources say plans are on to swear in the most senior justice of the supreme court, Justice Okukayode Arowoola as his replacement.
