As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to tackle the menace of drug abuse, Team WASD ( War Against Self Destruction) organized a Symposium for secondary school students in Nasarawa State and environs.
The event which held at Paris Africana School, Abacha road Maraba featured presentation of papers on diffe6 topics bordering on the dangers of drug abuse.
The converner of the event and team lead WASD, Ojong Bichene Ogar in his welcome address harped on the need to sensitize young persons and offer support as a means of curbing drug abuse.
The Chairman of the event, Chief Fatai Aliyu, CEO Fata systems limited who was represented by his son Engr.Aliyu lauded the initiative and called on young persons to shun peer influence and stay away from drugs.
High point of the event was presentation of awards to dignataries who are affecting the society especially young persons positively through mentorship and role modelling.
Recipients were, Dr Fatai Aliyu, Lady Queen Edith Udo-Udofia, Mr Leonard Oru, Nta Ejor Ndifon and Comrade Dominic Ogakwu
