The chairmanship candidate of Team Progressives for the Nigeria Civil Service Union NCSU federal council elections, Comrade Hector Nnadi has pledged to entrench democracy in the Union if voted into power.
Comrade Hector made the pledge during the Flag Off of his Campaign Wednesday at Chelsea hotel Abuja.
At the Flag Off attended by the permanent secretary, ministry of aviation , Mr. Abel Enitan as well as leaders of aviation and other units of the federal Civil Service Union, the permanent secretary called on all staff under the ministry of aviation to throw their weight behind Comrade Nnadi who he adjudged worthy of the position due to his time tested ideals.
Addressing the gathering, Comrade Nnadi lamented the lack of accountability and sincerity of purpose which had characterized some past leaderships especially those with just one term to lead saying they under performed because they were not coming back to seek reelection.
He challenged the outgoing leadership to present a statement of account at the coming meeting to show they had served the Union well.
Comrade Nnadi expressed dismay that even those involved in controversies surrounding the finances of the cooperative were seeking election not minding their inability to provide funds for members when needed.
He promised members that he would execute his 7 point agenda without fail and asked to be held accountable for it if voted into office.
Some members of the Union led by Comrade Sadiq Abubakar, secretary to the aviation units,NCSU who spoke to our corresponsent attested to his leadership qualities saying that there was a marked difference between Nnadi and other candidates judging from his track record.
According to Comrade Sadiq, “essentially Hector is just the man for the job. He is just too suitable, too perfect for the job and there is no denial about that.
” The qualities he has it, the temperament, the charisma, the vision, objectives and of course experience”.
Another colleague, Okoh Patience said ” Mr Hector is a wonderful person. He is a man that once he says a thing, he does what he says. He is a man you can hold into his words, a very disciplined man, very responsible”.
” He is not somebody that embezzles money, he is a straight forward person”.I think he is the best candidate so far, people will not regret voting for him”.
The DG Campaign for Team Progressives ,Kyuni Samuel said ” I never knew Hector from Adams but based on what he has been able to achieve as NCSU chairman in aviation,/transport and now aviation again has given me the courage to support him”.
” There is a lot that Hector has to offer not just on the NCSU, it is our prayer that one day he will be at the helm of affairs of labor.
He called on all civil servants to support Hector because he will stand and fight for the welfare of all.
As part of his 7 point agenda Comrade Hector says he will set up a check and balance system by setting up a chairman’s forum.
