The Chairmanship aspirant for Team progressives in the forthcoming NCSU Federal Council elections, Comrade Hector Nnadi has pledged the commitment of his team to ensuring workers welfare and capacity building.
Speaking at the round off of the Team progressives campaign at the Merit house Abuja, Call Comrade Hector said the team is running for office because it has become necessary to change the status quo.
“Don’t vote me as an Ibo man. don’t vote me because I am from Ministry of Aviation, don’t vote me because I am your friend,vote me because I am capable,vote me because I am courageous,vote me because I have character and vote me because I am competent”.
He lamented the fact that after over a hundred years of existence, the union is still recognized as a junior union ,a situation he has vowed to remedy if elected .
“We have outlined the seven point agenda of the team which includes democratizing the union, expansion of the FEC conference hall,correcting erroneous perception of our union as a junior union,a union since 1912, capacity building of unit leaders ,protecting members from official harassment,intimidation and victimization “.
He challenged the two other teams that if they had what it takes for the council to be sustained and viable,it wouldn’t have been necessary for Team progressives to run for office and urged the electorate to question the pedigree of those vying for office.
Some union members who spoke to our correspondent said they joined Team progressives because the Leader Hector is a man of integrity and believed the emergence of the Team will mark a new Dawn for the Nigeria civil service union.
