In an unprecedented development in the history of Northern Cross River state, a secondary school teacher and Pastor,Mr Mike Udam has mobilized youths for a one million match in support of the senator representing Cross River North senatorial district.
The match which is to take off from the Teachers Training college Ogoja on October 15 2022 is being sponsored by individuals and groups seeking to express their support for the senator’s re-election bid in the 2023 general elections.
Speaking to our correspondent,Mike Udam said his support for Senator Jarigbe Agom’s re-election is borne out of appreciation for the numerous people oriented projects undertaken by him right from his time at the house of representatives and the development in terms of amenities and infrastructure the Senator has been able to attract to his constituency in his short stay at the red chambers.
“This rally is organized with the clear intention of physically demonstrating our huge love and organic excitement about the person, character and quality of distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom.We have seen Jarigbe Agom as a young man who is a worthy representative’.
“He has dotted the 54 wards of Northern senatorial district with so many projects.it then dawned on us to show him appreciation”.
According to Udam, the support and enthusiasm the match has generated is an indication of the love his constituents have for the senator who has been nicknamed ‘the people’s Senator’. He said several people and groups had volunteered support in cash and in kind .
“Most of us are obedient fellows who support Peter Obi,so we said if we can support Peter Obi who has done nothing for us, but we see and have hope that he can do for us, how.much more Senator Jarigbe Agom who has impacted positively on the socio-economic development and emancipation of the people of Northern Cross River”.
He said the purpose of the Match is to remind the people of Cross River Northern senatorial district of the need to build on the progress made so far due to the presence of Jarigbe at the National Assembly. He cited especially the reconstruction of classrooms in various schools across the constituency which he said as a teacher is dear to his heart as well as the bill for Federal university of technology Ogoja which Jarigbe sponsored while at the National Assembly.
“What we seek to achieve is, we want to send a message to every politician from the councilor to the governor to the president,that when you work,your work will motivate the people. As at today we have raised almost 5.2 million naira and still counting. That is why we are excited”.

The testimony to this fact is why the people say let us go to the world and showcase who put son is”.
“Jarigbe Agom,I dare to say we have not seen his match, we have not gotten his match in a very long time”.
The rally is expected to be graced by Senator Jarigbe Agom as well as his political allies across the state.
