Currency Change Timed to Muzzle Opposition -Kwankwaso _Ada Nkong

The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso has faulted the timing of the proposed currency change.

Kwankwanso said this in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Abuja.

Reactions have continued to trail the proposed change of the currency in Nigeria as announced by the CBN governor. Part of the reasons given for the change was to curb vote buying in the forthcoming elections.

Presidential Aspirant and chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso says the timing is off coming so close to the election and may be targeted at muzzling opposition.

He said Nigeria’s diversity is a plus and should be leveraged on to develop the country. The leader of the kwankwasiya movement cited the scholarships he gave out during his tenure as governor of Kano state which he said were given to Kano residents and not Kano indigenes.

Kwankwanso condemned the current trend where people ride on the wings of ethnicity or religion to garner sentiments during campaign. According to him, his movement has set up an arrangement in all eight thousand eight hundred and nine wards in the country involving relevant stakeholders that will guarantee education, health, security and infrastructure nation wide adding that no student would be made to pay WAEC,NECO or JAMB fees if he is voted into office.

The former defence minister also said Nigeria has enough money to tackle the insecurity issues as well as fix education, health, economy and other sectors. Be said if such money is properly deployed, all the current challenges facing the country would be laid to rest.
