Gun men bearing guns and knives reportedly kidnapped passengers on the expressway leading to Calabar.
According to witness accounts in videos posted on social media, the attack took place at about 3:50 pm between Uyangha and Okomita in Akamkpa LGA.
A commercial driver who said they were herdsmen in his account said they could not be robbers as no attempt was made to collect money from passengers. They were rather herded into the bush.
He said they shot at his vehicle and deflated a tyre causing him to collide with an oncoming vehicle. He ran into the bush but his passengers who were not so lucky to escape were kidnapped.
