Internationally acclaimed superstar Ayodeji Balogun also known as Wizkid has declared in an interview with 10 magazine that he doesnt listen to any other genres of music as afro beats is the new pop.
Citing the success of his record sales the More love less ego artist stated “ Afrobeats is the new pop, I sold two million copies in America off one song! Even some American artists don’t have a diamond record. If I am being honest I don’t listen to any other genre of music anymore.
I don’t listen to rap – that sh*t is boring to me. Its dead now, its tired. These guys do the same sh*t, rap on the same beats and the same flows.
This declaration has left fans of the artist and the rap genre confused as the artist has worked with several rappers including Naira Marley and Skepta on his recently released album.
