
For the family of Dr. Otive-Igbuzor Executive Director,African Center for Leadership and Chief of staff to the Deputy Senate President, it was celebration galore as relations,associates and friends turned out to celebrate the call to bar of their daughter Barr. Rukewe Otive-Igbuzor to the Nigerian bar.

In a simple yet colorful reception that had in attendance dignataries from all works of life, the family thanked God for bringing their dream to fruition.

The Chairman, Mr Benedict Musa said it is a privilege for the family to have gotten to a point where they can celebrate their children. He prayed for more celebrations in the family.


The celebrant Barr. Otive-Igbuzor expressed her delight at a successful completion of the law school and expressed optimism for a bright career .

NLC President Comrade Ayuba Wabba congratulated the family and shared how the celebrants father inspired him. He wished her a fruitful law practice .




A scavengers game added color to the event followed by a fireside chat with the new lawyer where the compere for the event asked her various questions. Barr Rukewe said unlike others, she had wanted to study law all her life but found her why during her A Levels.
She said the most stressful memories were that of the registration process and the rigors of Queueing to submit papers over and over,she however pointed to the cooperation and support of her lecturers and friends as the brighter side of law school.
The celebrant is currently studying human rights law in Sweden.

High point of the event was the cutting of the cake by the celebrant supported by friends and family.

Side attractions include musical performance by Barr. Rukewe’s brother, Uvi the Rap priest as well as a family dance.
