An advocacy group, Doctors for Change has cried out against the incessant killings, kidnapping and molestation of doctors by friends and families of patients.

In a statement made available to Newsanexonline, the group said some patients die from complications caused by forces beyond the doctors control like failure to adhere to medical advice but the bereaved families take it out on the doctor.

The statement reads “We are facing increasing violence in Nigeria. Some feel that their grievances deserve to be heard by assaulting or even killing doctors and other healthcare workers”.

“ENOUGH is ENOUGH. Doctors are only trying to help and we always put the life of our patient FIRST”.

“Doctors for Change (DFC) made this video to support the efforts of all medical organisations. Please STOP the VIOLENCE against OUR DOCTORS”.
