
As voters cast their votes in the Presidential and National assembly elections, voters have described the process as fast and smooth.

A voter at the Nyanya LGEA primary school polling center E30 which houses Polling units 011 to 015 said though she was still on the queue, she is happy with the speed of the process. According to her the BVAS machine is working and accreditation and voting started about 9 am and is progressing smoothly.
An observer from SING Nigeria Mr Usman said comparatively, the election seems to be an improvement on past ones in terms of accreditation and voter turn out.

He said Nigerians were determined to vote going by the fact that despite of the challenges of locating their polling units, they were moving from place to place bent on finding where to vote.Usman further advised INEC to in future elections boldly print Numbers instead of names to post at polling units.

Another voter Mr Udeme Akpan called on INEC to do more in terms of sensitization concerning polling units to ensure ease of identification as some voters may not have the patience to search indefinitely.
Our correspondent noted pockets of challenges in some polling units. At O40 a polling unit in New Nyanya, the BVAS machine initially had hiccups as it kept saying unidentified user when booted. The official however was able to get it up and running after about thirty minutes by which time voters were already getting agitated.

At FCT 37-06-11-61 voters in unit 015 drew attention to the fact the the polling unit next to them was dismantled after voting had commenced and both materials, INEC officials and security personnel packed everything into a vehicle and drove off. Their explanation according to Mr Samuel Odoh a voter was that it was a wrong polling unit. They expressed concern as to what will happen to the votes that had been cast already.
A high voter turnout especially of youths was observed in all the polling units visited.
