The Publisher Global Spynews Chief Bassey Esin and, the former Transition Secretary of Urue-offong Oruko LGA in Akwa Ibom State has described Rt Hon. Esio Oquong Udo as a unifier.
Chief Bassey said this at the 70th birthday celebration of the Rt. Hon. Chief,Dr Esio Oquong Udo on April 13th,2023. Dr Oquong Udo was the first chairman of Urue-offong/Oruko LGA and 2 terms House of Representatives member for Oron Federal Constituency who kept good legacies when he was there and,whose legacies still speak for him .
The birthday celebration which took place on April 13 2023 was held at his residence in Ewet housing Estate,Uyo attracted people across party lines.
Chief Bassey Esin an APC Stalwart from URUE OFFONG/ ORUKO LGA congratulated Chief Esio Oquong Udo and thanked his wife Mrs Princess Esio for taking good care of the celebrant. The publisher commenting on the health of Chief Esio observed that nobody would believe that he was a 70 yr old man because he actually looked forty .
He referred to Hon. Esio as his Elder brother and big friend, adding that he always gained positive things from each of his conversations with Sir Esio Oquong Udo whenever he visits him.
He further prayed God to continue to give the celebrant good health and protect him.
Speaking to Newsmen,Chief Bassey observed that unlike some elected members today, throughout his tenure as a house of representative member for Oron Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Esio never failed to pick phone calls whether it was from people of the same Party or not. which was why
his birthday celebration brought so many people together across party lines and provided a meeting place for long time friends to reconnect and interact. He also said even those who had problems with one another resolved it on that day.
Chief Bassey Esin also extended his appreciation to Chief Effiong Johnson for his good performance as a State house member representing Mbo LGA stating that it was as a result of his good performance that his people voted for him to go for a second term. Chief Bassey then urged him to continue with his good works.
He congratulated the State House Member Elect for Urue-offong Oruko State Constituency Rt. Hon. Mrs Precious Selong who also attended the birthday celebration. He called upon Hon. Selong to continue to give good representation and leadership to the good people of Urue-offong/ Oruko as she did when she was the Council Chairman, and, carry everybody along irrespective of party affiliations.
While informing Mrs Selong that her success at the polls did not come as a surprise to people like him,
he congratulated Chief Selong the husband of Hon.Selong for having a good, humble wife and urged him to thank God every day for giving him such a wonderful wife.
Also at t the Birthday celebration, One of the former members of APC who later decamped to PDP and former State house aspirant in the 2023 election Deacon Otuakak Emenyi , now a PDP stalwart expressed his joy at meeting Chief Bassey at the Birthday and, sought his opinion as the assistant Director (South) Trade and Economics Directorate PCC for Tinubu and Shettima on the President Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Chief Esin informed him with confidence that he was sure that the President Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will fulfill his campaign promises to Nigerians because God has a purpose for choosing him as the Nigerian leader at this time and that God wants to use Tinubu to bless Nigeria.
Chief Esin then reminded Deacon Otuakak during that it was the good legacies left by Dr Esio Oquong Udo that brought many people to come and celebrate him. Those in attendance included the hon. Commissioner for Local Govt and Chieftancy affairs,AKS, the Hon Commissioner for transport, AKS,many elected members of the State House and National Assembly, PDP and APC Chieftains in Oron Federal Constituency, and Akwa Ibom State including even the candidates who failed their elections were equally in attendance at the Birthday. Chief Bassey asserted that that is the kind of unity and togetherness that Tinubu will bring to Nigerians after his swearing in as the President of the Country.
Deacon Otuakak Emenyi also enquired from the Publisher about the election of Pastor Umoeno as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State. In his response Chief Bassey stated that the 2023 election which produced Pastor Umoeno as the Governor and Dr Akon Eyakenyi as his Deputy was one of the best elections in the State he then called on the people, even those who lost in the election to forget about Court trials and join hands with those elected to build a great Akwa Ibom State.He expressed hope that since Pastor Umoeno made Dr Mrs Eyakenyi his Deputy,when he combines his wisdom with that of Dr Eyakenyi his Deputy,they will be able to perform well in office.
That Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Shettima will give Nigeria the best leadership.
He advised that anybody who occupies an office should perform well because at the end of his tenure he will return to still meet his people.
Chief Esin responding to questions about his opinion on the President Buhari led Federal Govt and the Udom led State Government responded that the APC led Federal Government of President Buhari has achieved a lot for Nigerians.
On the Udom Emmanuel led administration,he confirmed that the Governor has tried his best for Akwa Ibom State people but, however that one of the best things he has done which he will mostly remember him for is connecting
Oron road to Aka road and connecting it to the Uniuyo permanent site at Nwaniba road.
Chief Esin once again stated that the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari has done so much for Nigerians which they will appreciate after he is out of office. For Bola Ahmed Tinubu the President Elect, elder Esin remained resolute that Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Government will give Nigerians the best Governance.
