Following the unfortunate road crash on the road linking Abakpa to Igoli at the Metro hotel axis involving a motorcycle and a 911 truck which left eight persons dead , Chief Hart Modey has expressed sadness at the repeated incidents at the spot .
While speaking to our Correspondent, he sent his condolences to the families that lost their loved ones , stating that this is one loss too many.
He lamented the fact that despite the numerous incidents and the many lives lost on that axis, proactive steps have not been taken to prevent future recurrence.
Chief Modey called on the local government authorities and all relevant stakeholders to take immediate action to construct speed breakers and install road signs prompting motorists to slow down around the area.
He also adviced motorists to avoid speeding while driving within the metropolis.
Chief Modey prayed that God would grant the families and the good people of Ogoja fortitude to bear the loss.
