Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima have been sworn in as 16th president and vice respectively of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
They were escorted by their wives as Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, chief justice of Nigeria administered the oath of office while outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife looked on.
Thereafter,the flags were lowered and a new Nigerian flag and defense flag hoisted while the old flags were handed to the outgoing President signifying the end of his tenure.
President Tinubu thereafter took his first ride in the presidential carriage to inspect the guards of honor .
