
As part of activities to commemorate the international day against drug abuse and illegal trafficking,Team WASD Tuesday,June 27 visited inmates at the Keffi Custodial Center of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The program,tagged ‘You,me and life’ featured motivational talks by members of the team followed by an interactive session with the inmates.

The Team lead,Mr Ojong Ogar in his talk titled ,Life-Time and Purpose spoke about the the beauty of life. He told the inmates that though no man could determine their date of birth, they could by their actions or inactions hasten their death dates by their actions or inactions.
According to him “We all live on a time-line only measured by the creator and as such we have no near possiblity of controlling it except by managing it optimally to yield right and positive results”.

He further said man as a higher animal is expected to add positive values to life and creation through creativity.
Another team member Ms Atusiaba Ebere who spoke on the frailty of the flesh emphasized that a lot of man’s fortunes and misfortunes are driven by the craving to satisfy the flesh . She therefore called for less attention to satisfying the flesh.
On their part one of the inmates ,name withheld who spoke on behalf of his co-inmates thanked the team for the kind gesture,
According to him, the Correctional Center was truly a place to retreat and rebuild. He assured the team that while there, many bad habits are being curbed and skills acquired as they have the church, mosque and university which he said impacts a lot on them while preparing them for a better life outside the center.
The inmates were offered light refreshments after which group photographs were taken.
Team WASD is a non governmental organization that works towards eradicating drug abuse and other social vices by visiting schools and institutions to hold talks and encourage clean living.
