…
Yes, “Sweet Prince is HUNGRY AND ANGRY”.
He is hungry first, for the things of God. He is hungry for that missing link that will propel Cross River State to that desirable place of our dreams…
Our dear state begs for such hunger.
He is angry at the very poor state of affairs; beginning with insecurity, kidnapping, etc to the very abysmal state of our Civil Service, poor revenue generation, poor waste management …,very angry about the state of government infrastructure, assets, vehicles left behind. He is angry at the poverty level, the lazy attitudes, no strategy or plans or vissionlessness of our leaders
Yes he is angry and unhappy about our position as a people in the scheme of things both locally, nationally and internationally.
As the first Capital of Nigeria, a lot begs for attention.
H.E Prince Otu’s anger is obvious, apparent, and justifiable.
Aside from being unhapoy, his charisma still remains intact. Being a Master planner, a visionary leader and an Excellent Strategist. These traits are easily seen in his calm disposition, through decisive but few appointments thus far, the very strategic committees he has set up and the team he is quietly putting together. Fixing excellence where they belong. Like putting the right squares in the right holes.
Calmly he is tackling Security without a public display of it. No lunching of operation this ot that, Akpabuyo is a case study. There has been relative calm, steady cleaning of the land and ridding it of the very bad gangs that previously held sway.
Another cusury look at Prince Otu’s style of leadership is his listening skills. He absorbs contents, gets ideas and turns them into workable solutions. He is a maestro in the art of listening. He gives his time to his people. That is leadership we’ve prayed for.
Prince remains hungry for results. He has given a few people and professionals tasks and assignments, grouping them into strategic committees. He is keenly observing team spirit, commitment to their various and individual tasks, he is looking at results. That is our leader.
Prince is angry at corruption, he is patiently editing his team, clearing out the bad eggs, loading and reloading the good ones, sifting patiently, creating a clean team.
So.far, Cross River State is calm under Prince.
Recently, he held a meeting with staff and workers of the Governors Office. That meeting was very inspiring and motivating to all the staff, giving them a new sense of belonging, and renewing their total commitment to work. This is very commendable.
Finally, he puts people first. This is captured in his people first economic plan for Cross River State.
He visited prisoners, yet again displaying his traits of empathy and kindness, giving and renewing hope to everyone.
He is hungry for a better society, devoid of crime, offences and bitterness.
I could go on and on…
We look forward to better times under the able leadership of His Excellencies, Prince Bassey Edet Otu the Governor of Cross River State and his very calm, collected, and intelligent deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey.
A look at our Governor and Deputy, I wonder in awe how perfect this team is.
They were both lawmakers, one a Senator, and the other an experienced State Assembly Leader with admirable social credentials and leadership qualities.
We, Cross Riverians are hungry for that change that’s coming. We are angry that we wasted many years looking for a team like this.
…and sincerely look forward the greatest Cross River State!
