Gender expert and novelist, Dr Ejiro Otive-Igbuzor has described the Nigerian Spirit as determined, hardworking and distinct from every other nation in the world.

She made the assertion during the reading of her book, Trophy husband at the July edition of the guest writers session of the Abuja writers forum.

Speaking at the event which was attended by writers and an audience drawn from diverse fields, Dr Otive-Igbuzor expressed worry over the increasing rate of divorce which according to her is a function of a decline in the spirit of forgiveness. The Trophy husband as narrated by her is the story of a Nigerian woman who went to London to meet a spouse she had never known after being wooed by his mother. They have a turbulent start but eventually end up in a loving marriage as he turns a new leaf.

Side attractions at the event were music performance by a guitarist, an Idoma folklore told in English by Madox man and a raffle draw where ten lucky attendees won books by different authors.
