Expectations were rife and the atmosphere in Abuja was uneasy as the Presidential elections petition tribunal sat to give it’s judgement.
All entry points into the FCT from satellite towns saw heavy traffic caused by military check points.
The five man tribunal led by Justice Haruna Tsamanni which sat all day and late into the evening for a total of about 11 hours had the Vice- President,Chief of staff to the president, minister of aviation among other APC chieftains in attendance. It dismissed Peter Obi’s petition which it described as unmeritorious and without credible evidence to prove irregularities .

Atiku Abubakar of the PDP also petitioned the tribunal questioning President Bola Tinubu’s victory among other petitions. The tribunal however said his allegations of vote fraud were lame and dismissed his claim that the president was not qualified to run the elections.
Some of the rulings include :
TOP DECLARATION BY THE PRESIDENTIAL TRIBUNAL SO FAR :
●Senator Kashim Shettima Is Eligible To Contest.
●Double Nomination Case Against Shettima Is Incompetent.
