
The old and discouraging saying that teachers reward is in heaven appears to be fast getting discarded. This new era , of hardworking teachers being rewarded on earth became a reality for Mr Tyohermba Samuel Terlumun and his fellow awardees at the 2023 Teachers Day celebration in Abuja.

As teachers from across the federation flooded the Eagle square to celebrate the 2023 world teachers days, the atmosphere was one of joy , excitement and professional pride.
Teachers from across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT who have distinguished themselves received the Presidential teachers and school excellence award.
Notably among them is a renowned Physics teacher , Mr Tyohemba Samuel Terlumum, a staff of the Federal government college, vandeikyaa in Benue state,

Speaking with journalists, the visibly elated physics teacher promised to do more for the teaching profession and the nation
” No matter the difficulty they should find a way of achieving their target,one day God will remember them”
” Like today I feel so excited, I did not even expect that this will happen but it has happened”.
“I thank God for everything, I thank the president of this country President Bola Tinubu Ahmed for giving me this award through the minister of education “
He also appreciated his principal who he said motivated him to work hard.

Deputy Director and Principal of Federal government college Vandeikya , Mrs Sende, Jennifer who accompanied him to the event also spoke to our correspondent.
“Hard work pays, and the reward for hard work is more work so he should also get ready to know that he should do more to encourage his colleagues and then the students because a lot of them the old students are here to celebrate him”.


A colleague to the awardee, Mr Simon Uloko, was full of encomiums for Mr Tyohermba who he described as ebullient and having dedicated 24 years of his life to teaching physics, said “the award has caused immeasurable joy to the whole Federal Government college Vandeikya nation”.
Mr Tyohermba was joined in his celebration by his principal, colleagues and some students of the school who came to witness the honor.
Other teachers who received awards were also elated and promised to continue doing their best to impact the lives of their students.
