Following the appeal court judgement upholding the victory of Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe as Senator representing Cross River North senatorial district and Hon. Godwin Offiono as member representing Ogoja/Yala , a PDP chieftain,Chief Hart Modey has felicitated with them.
In a message circulated by his media team , the politician and philanthropist said “It is a new dawn for the people of Cross River North Senatorial District and all friends of participatory and representative democracy, the election that produced Senator Jarigbe Agom and Honourable Godwin Offiono was free,fair, credible and transparent and both tribunal and the appeal court has affirmed to this fact”.
Chief Modey Congratulated the people of Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom and Honourable Godwin Offiono for the landslide victories at both the tribunal and the appeal Court.
According to him , it is a clear demonstration of goodwill, affirmation and consolidation on the people’s mandate at the poll. He further said the Victory has sent a clear message to all Politicians that when given an opportunity they should utilize the opportunity optimally to have the people’s support in the future.
He however lamented what he described as unnecessary litigation to massage various egos which he said have caused irrelevant delays toward effective representation and delivery of quality public goods to the grassroot people. He said the Victory was too obvious to attract any squabbling or ligation but agreed that it was their right to seek redress and exhaust all legal means to justify their respective failures at the poll.
“Elections and court cases are over and it’s now time to go back to work immediately, the people entrusted their future into the hands of these leaders and am very optimistic they will not let the people down but rather will deliver upon their campaign promises, time to work and put smile on the people’s faces is now, The people voted against failures and will love to enjoy successes now”.
